The video, shared by PBKreviews on YouTube, strips the device down to reveal a sandstone-style laminate, a copper vapour chamber and a dual-battery system. If you were hoping the special edition hid upgraded hardware, the internals tell a different story.
What the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 teardown reveals
The teardown shows a thick backplate with a lamination layer on the inside. That layer gives the impression of a sandstone finish but still feels like glass to the touch. The large glass area covering the top half of the back is purely cosmetic.
The actual camera module is the same as the one on the standard OnePlus 8T. In other words, the Cyberpunk 2077 styling is skin deep, and the engineering beneath it carries over unchanged.
Thermal design and cooling
Inside, the chipsets are layered with thermal paste, copper tape and then graphite tape on top. A copper vapour chamber runs through the phone and extends underneath the battery, helping to spread heat away from the processor.
