iQOO U3 smartphone launched, will get Dimensity 800U 5G processor

The iQOO U3 smartphone Dimensity 800U combo has arrived, with Vivo's sub-brand iQOO launching its latest 5G phone in China. The handset pairs a 6.58-inch 90Hz display with MediaTek's octa-core Dimensity 800U 5G chip and a large 5000mAh battery. Pre-booking has already begun in China, though there is no word yet on a global release.

The phone is listed on Vivo's Chinese website and on JD.com. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant costs 1,498 Chinese yuan, roughly 16,800 rupees, while the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at 1,698 Chinese yuan, about 19,100 rupees.

Buyers in China can pick from Glow Blue and Early Black colour options. Pre-booking is live locally, but the company has shared no details about availability in the global market.

Display, processor and software

At the front sits a 6.58-inch LCD panel with a 1080x2408 pixel resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling. Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G processor, backed by up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

On the software side, the iQOO U3 runs iQOO UI 1.5 based on Android 10. As a product from the Vivo-owned iQOO line-up, it slots into the brand's value-focused 5G range.

Camera setup

The rear houses a dual-camera system. The main sensor is 48 megapixels with an f/1.79 aperture, joined by a 2-megapixel secondary lens. The cameras can record 4K video and offer 10x zoom, along with Night, Portrait and Panorama modes. Selfies are handled by an 8-megapixel front camera.

Battery and connectivity

A 5000mAh battery keeps the lights on, supported by 18W dual engine fast charging. Connectivity covers 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.1, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
