Amazon launches Kindle Paperwhite e-book reader with 12 weeks battery backup in India, know the price

Amazon launched the new Kindle Paperwhite in India. The company claims that this is the fastest and best performing Kindle Paperwhite model ever. It has many upgrades, such as bigger screen, slimmer body and better performance. The new version was first launched in some international markets in October 2024 and has now been officially introduced in India. However, it is not yet clear whether models like Kindle Scribe or the new entry-level Kindle will also come to India.

The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite has been priced at Rs 16,999 in India and is available for purchase on Amazon.in. The company has launched it for the user base of e-reading who want more battery, bigger screen and smoother experience. More than 15 million e-books are available on Amazon’s Kindle Store, including Indian languages like Hindi, Marathi and Tamil. At the same time, Kindle Unlimited users get access to more than 2 million ebooks and a limited rotating selection is also available for free for Prime subscribers.

This time the biggest change in the device has come in the form of a 7-inch display. This is the largest screen size in any Paperwhite so far and its 300 ppi glare-free panel claims to give a paper-like reading experience even in sunlight. It also has adjustable warm light and dark mode, making it easy to read in any light condition.

The device is now thinner and lighter than before. With the new body design, it is expected to be easy to read for a long time by holding it with one hand. It now gets USB-C charging and the company claims that it can last up to 12 weeks on a single charge.

The Kindle Paperwhite now has 16GB of internal storage and is also waterproof with an IPX8 rating, meaning you can use it poolside or in the bath without fear. The device also has features like X-Ray, Word Wise and an inbuilt dictionary, allowing users to instantly know the meaning of characters or words.
