Samsung, one of the major smartphone companies, has launched a new foldable handset. The Samsung W26, based on the company’s Galaxy Z Fold series, has been launched in China. The smartphone’s specifications are similar to the book-style Galaxy Z Fold 7 introduced earlier this year. It features a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The smartphone features a 4,400 mAh battery, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. However, the Samsung W26 has more memory and supports direct satellite connectivity.
The 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage variant of this smartphone is priced at CNY 16,999 (approximately Rs. 2,11,200), and the 16 GB + 1 TB variant is priced at CNY 18,999 (approximately Rs. 2,36,000). The Samsung W26 is available in dual red and gold and black and gold colors. It is available for purchase in China through Samsung’s website.

This smartphone features an 8-inch inner AMOLED display with a QXGA+ (1,968 × 2,184 pixels) resolution and a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (1,080 × 2,520 pixels) cover display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness level of 2,600 nits. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC. The Samsung W26 runs One UI 8 based on Android 16. It supports some Galaxy AI features, including a smart password manager. The smartphone has a 200-megapixel primary outer camera. It also has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera, and its inner foldable panel houses a 10-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The Samsung W26 supports direct satellite connectivity through China’s mobile communications satellite system, Tiantong.
