Motorola Edge 70, thinner than 6mm, with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, launched globally

Motorola introduced its thinnest smartphone, the Moto X70 Air, in China this week. This smartphone has now been launched globally as the Motorola Edge 70. The phone measures just 5.9mm thick, significantly less than the previous 7.9mm-thick Edge 60. This slim design phone is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor with 12GB of RAM, details of which can be found below.

The Motorola Edge 70 5G phone is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 octa-core processor built on Qualcomm’s 4nm fabrication, clocked at up to 2.8GHz. In Poland, this smartphone comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which provides fast app loading and smooth multitasking. The phone also has 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The Motorola Edge 70 has been launched with a 6.67-inch 1.5K screen with a resolution of 2712 × 1220 pixels. This is a punch-hole display built on a pOLED panel that offers a 120Hz refresh rate and 4500nits of peak brightness. The company has also used Water Touch Technology on this phone screen, which allows for smooth touch even with wet hands. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor.

For photography, the Motorola Edge 70 5G smartphone supports a triple rear camera. Its back panel features a 50-megapixel OIS sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, which works in conjunction with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120° FOV, and a 3-in-1 light sensor. For selfies and video calling, this Motorola phone features a 50-megapixel front camera.

Since the phone is thin, it’s obvious that the battery will be thin as well. For power backup, the Motorola Edge 70 5G is equipped with a 4800mAh battery. The company claims that it can play video for up to 28 hours on a full charge. For faster charging, the phone is equipped with 68W fast charging technology, along with 15W wireless charging technology.

Regarding the phone’s other features, the Motorola Edge 70 has an IP68 + IP69 rating, making it dust and waterproof. MIL-STD 810H military certification provides robustness. For connectivity, it includes Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi, and NFC. Google Gemini voice control is also available. The frame of this phone is made of strong aircraft-grade aluminum and the screen is coated with Gorilla Glass 7i.

In Europe, the Motorola Edge 70 has been launched with 12GB RAM + 512GB storage at a price of €800. This price is approximately Rs. in Indian currency. There is no confirmation yet about whether this smartphone will be launched in India or not. In Poland, the Motorola Edge 70 will be sold in Gadget Grey, Lilly pad and Bronze Green colors.
