Xiaomi has launched its new Redmi Note 17 5G smartphone in India. The phone comes with features such as an 8000mAh battery, a 6.9-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, and a 50MP camera. Additionally, the company promises 4 years of Android OS updates and 6 years of security updates for the device.

The starting price for the Redmi Note 17 5G is ₹27,999 (6GB + 128GB), while the 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at ₹30,999. As part of the launch offer, customers can avail an instant discount of ₹3,000 when purchasing with SBI, Axis Bank, or Kotak Bank credit cards. Sales for the smartphone will begin on August 12 via Amazon and Xiaomi's online store. It will be available in Arctic Blue, Dark Night, and Starlight Purple color options.

The Redmi Note 17 5G features a 6.9-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1800 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The phone also includes the HydroTouch 2.0 feature, ensuring improved touch responsiveness even when using the screen with wet hands. The standout feature is its massive 8000mAh battery, which supports 45W fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. Redmi claims the phone can last up to 2.5 days on a single charge.

The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, built on a 4nm process. It comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The storage can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card. For enhanced cooling, it features a Vapour Chamber Cooling System and a 10,416mm² graphite heat dissipation area. The device also holds an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.

For photography, the Redmi Note 17 5G is equipped with a 50MP primary rear camera that supports 2x digital zoom; it is accompanied by a secondary camera. An 8MP front camera is provided for selfies and video calling.

In terms of software, the Redmi Note 17 5G runs on HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. The company states that the smartphone will receive Android OS updates for 4 years and security patches for 6 years. The phone measures 8.4mm in thickness and weighs 225 grams.
