Samsung has launched the new Galaxy A08 as part of its
Galaxy A series. It arrives as an upgraded version of last year's Galaxy A07.
The phone features a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display. It is powered by the MediaTek
Helio G99 processor and runs on One UI 8 based on Android 16. Samsung has
promised up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates
for the Galaxy A08. The device comes equipped with a 50MP rear camera, an 8MP
selfie camera, and a 6000mAh battery. It supports 25W fast charging, though the
charger is not included in the box.
Samsung Galaxy A08 Price
The Samsung Galaxy A08 has been introduced in a variant
featuring 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It is priced at 10,699 Ukrainian
hryvnia (approximately ₹23,000) in Ukraine. The phone is available in Navy
Blue, Silver, and Green color options. It has already gone on sale in select
markets and has also been listed on websites in countries like Serbia and South
Africa. Samsung has not yet disclosed details regarding its pricing and availability
in India.
Samsung Galaxy A08 Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy A08 sports a 6.7-inch HD+ Infinity-U LCD
display with a resolution of 720x1600 pixels. It features a U-shaped notch at
the top of the screen housing an 8MP front camera. Some reports indicate that
the panel supports a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone includes a side-mounted
fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It measures 167.4 x 77.4 x 8.0mm
and weighs 197 grams. For performance, the Galaxy A08 is powered by the 6nm
MediaTek Helio G99 processor. It features two Cortex-A76 cores clocking up to
2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at speeds up to 2GHz. Graphics duties
are handled by the Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The phone comes with 4GB of LPDDR4X
RAM and 128GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card.
It includes a dedicated microSD card slot alongside dual SIM support.
In terms of cameras, the Samsung Galaxy A08 sports a 50MP
primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. It is accompanied by a 2MP depth
sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and an LED flash. For selfies and video calls,
the phone features an 8MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
The Galaxy A08 houses a 6000mAh battery that supports 25W
fast charging. However, since Samsung does not include a charger in the box,
users may need to purchase one separately to utilize the 25W charging
capability. The phone also carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust
and water splashes. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac
(supporting both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and a USB Type-C
port.
On the software front, the Galaxy A08 runs on Android 16
with One UI 8. Samsung has confirmed that the device will receive up to six
generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
