TCL launches smartwatch for children, location tracking and video calling feature available, know the price

TCL has launched its new smartwatch Movetime MT48 for children. This watch is specially designed for families who prioritize the safety, connectivity and digital wellness of their children. The company has introduced it in the European market, where it has been priced at €150. Initially it will be available in Germany, UK, Spain, Italy and France from October. After this it will be rolled out in other countries as well.

TCL Movetime MT48 has dual-band GPS (L1+L5), which provides real-time and high-precision location tracking. It works accurately even in crowded and signal interference areas. Parents can create custom Safe Zones through the TCL Connect App. As soon as the child leaves that zone, an alert will be received immediately. Apart from this, the watch also has an SOS button, so that children can send alerts with their location in emergency situations.

This smartwatch comes with 4G support, which offers features like video calling, VoLTE voice calls, instant messaging and secure photo sharing. Children can also send voice and text messages in it. The special thing is that the “Shake to Add” feature has been given to add new friends, which is activated only after parental approval. The company says that its data privacy and security is in line with GDPR, ISO 27701 and ISO 27001 standards.

The Movetime MT48 has a 900mAh battery, which claims to give 2.5 days of backup and 7 days of standby time on a single charge. Keeping in mind the active lifestyle of children, the watch has been designed with IP68 and 2ATM water resistance rating. That is, it is completely safe for rain, swimming and daily splash.

TCL has not limited this watch to just connectivity, but it has also focused on digital wellness. For this, School Time Mode has been given, which parents can activate from their phone. In this mode, games, chat and notifications will be blocked, but the SOS feature will remain on. Parents can also set daily routines, alarms and healthy habits reminders for children from this app.
