Amazon Echo Show 11, Echo Show 8 (Gen 4) Launched in India: From Music and Video Calling to CCTV, All in One Place!

Amazon has launched its new smart displays, the Echo Show 11 and Echo Show 8 (Gen 4), in India. Both devices come with Alexa and combine screen, audio, and sensor technology. According to the company, the new Echo Show smart displays focus on making smart home control, entertainment, and daily task management easier. The Echo Show 11 features an 11-inch display, while the Echo Show 8 (Gen 4) has an 8.7-inch screen. Both devices feature edge-to-edge glass and thin bezels.

In terms of price and availability, the Echo Show 11 is launched in India at ₹26,999, while the Echo Show 8 (Gen 4) is priced at ₹23,999. Both devices will be available in Graphite and Glacier White color options. They can be purchased from Amazon.in, Flipkart, and offline stores such as Reliance Digital and Croma.

Coming to the specifications, the Amazon Echo Show 11 features an 11-inch display with Full HD resolution, while the Echo Show 8 (Gen 4) has an 8.7-inch screen with HD resolution. The company says that the new design and thin bezels make the screen area feel larger. They also feature ambient visuals that automatically adjust to the surrounding environment.

For performance and smart features, both smart displays run on Amazon’s custom AZ3 Pro chip. This chip is paired with a custom sensor platform called Omnisense, which the company calls Ambient AI. It includes features such as motion, presence, and temperature detection. For example, if someone enters a room, it can automatically turn on compatible smart lights or trigger a routine connected to the AC or fan when the room temperature rises. All these routines can be set up through the Alexa app.

In terms of audio, the Echo Show 11 and Echo Show 8 (Gen 4) feature a new audio architecture. Both devices come with front-firing stereo speakers and a custom woofer. According to the company, this setup delivers deep bass, clear vocals, and a room-filling spatial audio experience. Users can stream music and audio content from platforms like Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, JioSaavn, and Audible.

For camera and video calling, both smart displays are equipped with a 13MP camera, which features center auto-framing and noise reduction technology. This allows for video calling with other Echo devices or users of the Alexa app. Additionally, the Drop In feature allows users to monitor their home and connect compatible security cameras or video doorbells to view up to four live feeds simultaneously.

Regarding privacy, Amazon stated that the Echo Show 11 and Echo Show 8 (Gen 4) offer multiple layers of control, including a microphone off button, camera controls, and the option to view and delete voice recordings in the Alexa app. The company also confirmed that these new Echo Show smart displays will be compatible with the Alexa+ generative AI assistant, which will be available in India in the future.
