Music and calling without putting anything in your ears! Sony launches new Clip-On LinkBuds Clip, know the price.

Sony LinkBuds Clip truly wireless open-ear earbuds have been launched. These are the latest addition to Sony’s open-ear audio lineup, featuring a clip-on design. The LinkBuds Clip targets users who don’t want to be completely cut off from their surroundings while listening to music. With an open-ear design, large drivers, and AI-based call features, this new Sony product is positioned for commuters and outdoor users.

The Sony LinkBuds Clip is available in Black, Gray, Green, and Lavender color options. In the US, they are priced at $229.99, which is approximately ₹21,000 in Indian currency. Optional case covers and fitting cushions are also available for $24.99. Currently, the company has not shared any information regarding the price and availability in India.

In terms of design, the Sony LinkBuds Clip features an open-ear clip-on style that fits outside the ear instead of going inside the ear canal. This is a different approach from Sony’s previous ring-style open earbuds. The C-shaped clip design is said to provide a more stable fit on different ear shapes, potentially reducing discomfort during prolonged wear. Each earbud weighs approximately 6.4 grams.

For audio, Sony has included a 10mm dynamic driver in the LinkBuds Clip. Due to the open design, these earbuds will have less isolation, but the focus is claimed to be on clarity and balance. These earbuds come with Bluetooth 5.3 support and also offer multipoint connectivity. SBC and AAC audio codecs are supported, while high-resolution codecs like LDAC are not included.

Sony has also added some new listening modes this time. The Voice Boost mode is specifically designed to make conversations and announcements clearer. The Sound Leakage Reduction feature works to minimize sound leakage, a common issue with open-ear designs. For calls, it utilizes AI-based noise reduction and bone conduction sensors, which is a different approach compared to basic dual-microphone systems.

In terms of battery life, the LinkBuds Clip earbuds claim to offer approximately 9 hours of playback on a single charge, while the charging case extends the total battery life to up to 37 hours. Fast charging support is also included, providing about 1 hour of playback with just 3 minutes of charging. These earbuds come with an IPX4 rating, offering protection against light rain and sweat.

The Sony LinkBuds Clip can be controlled via the Sony Sound Connect app, which offers features such as a 10-band EQ, 360 Reality Audio, background sound effects, and customizable controls.
