Motorola makes a comeback in the smartwatch market, launches Moto Watch in India, priced under Rs 6,000
Motorola has launched the Moto Watch in India. This smartwatch was first showcased globally at CES 2026, and it is considered the company’s biggest and most direct smartwatch launch since the discontinuation of the Moto 360 series in 2019. Previous wearables under the Motorola name were licensed products, while the Moto Watch has been designed and developed by the company itself. The new Moto Watch supports Android phones running Android 12 or later and features the company’s own software instead of Wear OS.
In terms of design and display, the Moto Watch features a round dial design. It comes with a 47mm aluminum case and a 1.4-inch OLED display. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartwatch measures 47 x 47 x 12mm and weighs approximately 35 grams. It features 22mm interchangeable straps and 26 built-in watch faces.
For durability, the Moto Watch has an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and also supports a 1 ATM water rating. According to the company, this watch is designed for daily use and workouts, but it is not positioned as a professional swimming or diving watch.
Regarding battery life, Motorola claims that the Moto Watch can offer up to 13 days of battery life in raise-to-wake mode. With the always-on display enabled, it can last for about 7 days. It also supports fast charging, and according to the company, just 5 minutes of charging can provide approximately one day of backup.
For health and fitness features, Motorola has partnered with Polar. The Moto Watch features continuous heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking, stress tracking, sleep analysis, and step and calorie tracking. It also includes dual-frequency GPS, supporting both L1 and L5 bands.
In terms of software features, the Moto Watch offers notification mirroring, an in-built microphone and speaker for Bluetooth calling, and AI-based smart notifications. However, it currently lacks support for third-party apps or an app ecosystem like Wear OS. The company is integrating it with its Moto Things ecosystem via its Smart Connect service, which is reportedly still in its early stages.
The Moto Watch is priced at ₹5,999 in India, which is the price after applying offers. This smartwatch will be available for purchase on Flipkart starting January 30th at 12 PM. Motorola is offering the watch in Matte Black and Matte Silver finishes, with various Pantone-labeled strap color options, including Volcanic Ash, Parachute Purple, Herbal Garden, and Mocha Mousse leather straps.
