Xiaomi 17 Launched in India: New Flagship Arrives with 6330mAh Battery and 50MP Leica Camera—Check the Price

Xiaomi has officially launched its new flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17, in India. This device was unveiled alongside the company’s Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The new device features a 6.3-inch CrystalRes OLED display that supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Additionally, the phone comes equipped with features such as a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a Leica-tuned triple-camera setup, and a large-capacity battery. The company has also incorporated AI-based HyperAI features into the device. This smartphone runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3, based on Android 16.

In terms of pricing, the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant of the Xiaomi 17 is priced at ₹89,999. Meanwhile, the 12GB + 512GB variant carries a price tag of ₹99,999. The phone will be available in Black, Blue, and Green color options. Sales are scheduled to begin on March 13 via the Xiaomi India website, Amazon, and select retail stores.

The Xiaomi 17 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, a chipset built on a 3nm fabrication process. It is paired with an Adreno GPU and the Qualcomm AI Engine. To ensure robust gaming performance, Xiaomi has integrated a 3D IceLoop cooling system into the phone; furthermore, the device features LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage technology. The phone also boasts an IP68 rating, offering claimed protection against dust and water ingress.

The Xiaomi 17 houses a 6,330mAh battery that supports 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging. It features a 6.3-inch CrystalRes OLED panel with a resolution of 2,656 × 1,220 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. Additionally, it includes support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 12-bit color depth. Xiaomi states that the screen on the Xiaomi 17 has received TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free certifications.

In terms of cameras, the Xiaomi 17 features a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup. It houses a 50MP primary camera equipped with a 1/1.31-inch Light Fusion 950 sensor and OIS support. Furthermore, there is a 50MP telephoto camera with a 60mm focal length and OIS. The third camera is a 50MP ultra-wide sensor that supports a 102-degree field of view. For selfies and video calls, the device is equipped with a 50MP autofocus front camera.

Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Additionally, the phone features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, Hi-Res Audio certification, and a four-microphone array. For security, it offers an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and AI-based face unlock support.
