Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Launched: Samsung smartphone with 200MP camera, 5.8mm slim body launched

Samsung has launched the new and thinnest smartphone of its Galaxy S series, the Galaxy S25 Edge. With a thickness of 5.8mm and a weight of just 163 grams, this phone is the brand’s slimmest S-series device ever. It has a 6.7-inch 2K Quad HD+ LTPO AMOLED display, which supports an adaptive refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz. Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 has been installed to protect the display. The responsibility of powering the phone is on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, which is specially customized for Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge price, availability

The Galaxy S25 Edge comes in two storage variants. The 12GB + 256GB model is priced at $1,099.99 (around Rs 93,400), while the 12GB + 512GB variant is priced at $1,219.99 (around Rs 1,03,600). The phone will be available in Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack and Titanium Icyblue color options. Its price in India is expected to be announced soon and its sale in the global market will start from May 30. Pre-orders have started in many markets from today.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge runs on Android 15-based One UI 7. Samsung has promised customers that the phone will get seven generations of OS upgrades and security updates for seven years. The Samsung smartphone has a 6.7-inch Quad HD + LTPO AMOLED display, which supports an adaptive refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz. The job of protecting the screen is done by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection. The smartphone works on Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, which is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

Coming to the camera department. Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has a dual rear camera system with a 200MP primary camera sensor with f/1.7 aperture, OIS and 2x optical quality zoom. An f/2.2 aperture supported 12MP ultra-wide lens has been included with the main camera. The company says that the main sensor can give 40% brighter output in low-light than the Galaxy S25. At the same time, the secondary camera is capable of capturing macro shots with autofocus. A 12MP shooter has been given in the front. This camera supports 8K 30fps and 4K 60fps recording.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge brings a suite of AI features similar to other S-series smartphones. This includes AI tools like Circle to Search, Call Transcript, Writing Assist and Drawing Assist. Also, Google’s Gemini AI and Multimodal agents are also integrated, which can interpret text, speech, images and video.

The Galaxy S25 Edge has a 3900mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging, Qi wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare. The phone gets an IP68 rated build and also includes re-designed wiper chamber cooling. Connectivity options include all features like 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, USB-C port and GLONASS. The smartphone measures 158.2x 75.6 x 5.8mm and weighs 163 grams.
