Honor launches Magic V5, Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, know price, specifications

Chinese smartphone maker Honor has launched the Magic V5. This foldable smartphone has a 7.95-inch inner display with 2K resolution and a 6.45-inch LTPO OLED cover screen. It has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite as the processor.

Launched in China, the price of the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant of this book-style foldable smartphone is CNY 8,999 (approximately Rs 1,07,500), 16 GB + 512 GB is CNY 9,999 (approximately Rs 1,19,400) and the 16 GB + 1 TB variant is CNY 10,999 (approximately Rs 1,31,400). Pre-orders for this smartphone can be placed on Honor’s website in China. Its sale will start from July 4. It has been made available in Warm White, Dawn Gold, Silk Road Dunhuang and Velvet Black colors.

This smartphone has a 7.95-inch inner flexible OLED display with 2K resolution, peak brightness level of 5,000 nits and dimming rate of 4,320 Hz PWM. It has a 6.45-inch LTPO OLED outer screen. This smartphone has an octacore Snapdragon 8 Elite as the processor. It runs on MagicOS 9.1 based on Android 15. The triple rear camera unit of the Magic V5 includes a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with support for optical image stabilization (OIS) and 3x optical zoom. It has 20-megapixel cameras on both the inner screen and outer display for selfies and video calls. Its 16 GB + 1 TB variant has a 6,100 mAh battery. Other variants of this smartphone have a 5,820 mAh battery. It has options of 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port for connectivity. The thickness of this smartphone is 8.8 mm when folded and 4.1 mm when unfolded. It weighs about 217 grams. The sale of foldable smartphones has increased rapidly in the last few years.
