The South Korean company hopes that this stretchable display will be commercially launched in the coming few years. High quality silicone has been used in this, which is commonly used in contact lenses. This display has rubber-like flexibility, due to which this 12-inch display can be stretched up to 14 inches. Apart from this, micro LED light source has been used in it, which supports high level of durability.

According to the report, this stretchable display from LG uses the Flexible S Form Stretch Wired System. The company claims that it can change its size 10 thousand times continuously. At the same time, its durability is also good.

Work was going on since 2020

The company had partnered with 20 organizations from South Korea and industry academic sector to design this display. Work was being done on this display from 2020. This display can be easily mounted especially on any curved surface. In such a situation, it can be used in many commercial applications in the coming days.

LG has already made a rollable display, which the company has used in the LG Rollable phone. However, this phone has not been launched commercially. LG can challenge Samsung’s foldable display with this stretchable display.
