The Google Pixel Fold made its global debut at Google I/O 2023, marking the company's long-awaited entry into the foldable smartphone segment. Google Pixel Fold: Display, Design and Build Quality
The Pixel Fold sports a dual-display design that is central to the foldable experience. The primary inner screen is a 7.6-inch OLED panel with a 6:5 aspect ratio and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, making it well-suited for multitasking and media consumption. When folded, the outer cover display measures 5.8 inches Full HD Plus OLED with a 17.4:9 aspect ratio and also runs at up to 120Hz, so notifications and quick interactions are fluid without opening the device.
Both displays are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, while the inner foldable panel carries a protective plastic coating as is standard for foldable screens. The phone is available in two colour options: Obsidian and Porcelain.
Processor, Performance and Security
Under the hood, the Google Pixel Fold runs on Google's second-generation Tensor G2 processor — the same chip found in the Pixel 7 series — paired with 12 GB of RAM. Storage options are 256 GB and 512 GB; there is no microSD card slot. Google's dedicated Titan M2 security chip handles on-device security, and the phone ships with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as face unlock for biometric authentication. Google has committed to five years of software updates for the Pixel Fold, a meaningful advantage for longevity compared to many Android competitors.

Photography is a traditional Pixel strength, and the Fold carries a triple rear camera setup. The primary lens is a 48-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), CLAF autofocus, and an f/1.7 aperture. Google's signature computational photography features — including Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Night Mode — are all available on the Pixel Fold.
Battery, Charging and Connectivity
The Pixel Fold is equipped with a 4,821 mAh battery with support for 30W wired fast charging. Wireless charging is also included. Google claims up to 72 hours of standby time with Extreme Battery Saver mode active. On the connectivity side, the phone covers all the essentials: 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, GPS, Google Cast, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Three microphones are built in, and the device includes Google One VPN for added privacy.

Google Pixel Fold Price and Availability
The 256 GB Google Pixel Fold starts at $1,799 (around ₹1,47,500), while the 512 GB variant is priced at $1,919 (approximately ₹1,57,300). As a launch incentive, buyers receive a complimentary Pixel Watch with their purchase. As of the announcement, there is no confirmed sale date for India, and availability in the Indian market has not yet been announced by Google.
