Samsung Galaxy A17 4G launched, budget phone with 50MP camera and 5000mAh battery; learn the price

Samsung has launched its new budget smartphone, the Galaxy A17 4G, in Germany. The company has introduced it as the latest entry in the A-series. While pricing and availability are not mentioned on Samsung Germany’s website, the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the Galaxy A17 4G has been listed on an e-commerce site. Some of its key features include a 5,000mAh battery, Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the panel, expandable storage up to 2TB, and a 50MP main rear camera.

The Samsung Galaxy A17 4G has been listed by a local German retailer for KSH 22,400 (approximately Rs. 15,000). At this price, users will get 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The same variant is also listed on Samsung’s official website for Germany, without pricing or availability details. Currently, the company has not shared any official information regarding its availability in other markets. Samsung already sells the Galaxy A17 5G in India, starting at ₹18,999.

Specifications-wise, the Samsung Galaxy A17 4G runs on Android 15-based One UI 7, and the company claims it will receive six years of major OS updates and six years of security updates. The phone also supports several AI features, such as Gemini Live and Circle to Search.

The Galaxy A17 4G features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. For performance, it features a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users can expand the storage up to 2TB via a microSD card.

Speaking of the camera setup, the Galaxy A17 4G features a triple rear camera unit. This includes a 50MP primary sensor (with OIS support), a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. A 13MP front camera is provided for selfies and video calling.

The phone has a long list of connectivity options, including Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Galileo, QZSS, Wi-Fi, and a USB Type-C port. It also has an IP54 rating, making it dust and water resistant.

For power, the Galaxy A17 4G packs a 5,000mAh battery, which the company claims can deliver up to 18 hours of video playback. Dimensions are 164.4×77.9×7.5mm and it weighs 190 grams.
