Nubia Z80 Ultra launched: Powerful features like a 7200mAh battery, 16GB RAM, and 1TB storage. Learn the price.

Nubia has launched its new flagship smartphone, the Nubia Z80 Ultra, in China. This phone is the most powerful model in the company’s Z series yet, featuring a new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a larger 7,200mAh battery, and an upgraded camera system. The phone resembles its predecessor, the Z70 Ultra, but features several significant upgrades. The device features flat sides and a rectangular camera module. The phone is 8.6mm thick and weighs 227 grams. It is water and dust resistant with an IP68 + IP69 rating.

The Nubia Z80 Ultra is currently available for sale in China, and a global launch is expected soon. The phone comes in several storage variants. The 12GB + 512GB model is priced at 4,999 yuan (approximately Rs. 61,500), the 16GB + 512GB variant at 5,299 yuan (approximately Rs. 65,300), and the 16GB + 1TB variant at 5,699 yuan (approximately Rs. 70,200). Special editions like the Starry Night Collector’s Edition and Luo Tianyi Limited Edition have also been launched, priced between 5,599 and 5,999 yuan, respectively.

Specifications-wise, the Nubia Z80 Ultra features a 6.85-inch BOX X10 OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The display boasts 2000 nits peak brightness, a 960Hz touch sampling rate, 10-bit color depth, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. According to Nubia, this panel supports 2592Hz PWM dimming and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.

For performance, it features the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The phone runs on Nebula AIOS 2 based on Android 16. Limited edition models feature exclusive HD wallpapers, custom animations, and unique fingerprint unlock effects.

The camera setup has also been significantly upgraded this time around. The phone features a 50MP 1/1.3-inch OmniVision LightMaster 990 main sensor with OIS and an f/1.5 aperture. It also includes a 50MP ultra-wide camera (120° FOV, f/1.8) and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens (15cm macro, OIS, f/2.4).

For power, it packs a large 7,200mAh battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless fast charging. Reverse wireless charging is also supported. Connectivity options include WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, dual USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and a dedicated USB Type-C port.
