Samsung Unveils World’s First 4K 360Hz QD-OLED Monitor, Showcases New Gaming Technology

Samsung has unveiled its new OLED and QD-OLED display lineup at COMPUTEX 2026. The company showcased a total of 16 new gaming-focused displays, ranging from 8.8-inch OLED panels for handheld gaming devices to 49-inch QD-OLED monitors. During the event, the company also introduced the world’s first 4K 360Hz QD-OLED monitor. Additionally, an Ultra Slim Laptop OLED panel and the new Penta Tandem QD-OLED technology were showcased.

According to Samsung, the new 4K 360Hz QD-OLED panel is the industry’s first self-emissive monitor to simultaneously support 4K resolution and a 360Hz refresh rate. The company states that the panel’s internal circuitry and drive system have been optimized to achieve both high resolution and an ultra-high refresh rate concurrently.

The company also introduced a new Ultra Slim OLED panel, designed specifically for gaming laptops. According to Samsung, this panel is more than 20 percent thinner than existing laptop OLED modules. To achieve this, the thickness of the TFT substrate and encapsulation glass has been reduced by over 30 percent. The company claims that, despite the slim design, the display’s performance metrics—such as black levels and response times—remain unaffected.

Samsung noted that its OLED laptop panels are capable of supporting up to VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification. According to the company, these displays are capable of delivering peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits and deep black levels. Furthermore, refresh rates ranging from 165Hz to 240Hz are available.

At the event, the company also demonstrated its new Penta Tandem QD-OLED technology. In this technology, the OLED stack has been expanded from four layers to five. Samsung claims that this enhancement has improved the panel’s brightness, lifespan, and energy efficiency. According to the company, this technology can help deliver a superior visual experience during HDR content playback and gaming.

Additionally, Samsung Display showcased a 27-inch 500Hz QD-OLED monitor, a 31.5-inch UHD QD-OLED, a 34-inch QHD+ QD-OLED, and a 49-inch Dual QHD QD-OLED monitor. To demonstrate the capabilities of these displays, the company utilized games such as PUBG: Battlegrounds, F1 25, DJMAX RESPECT V, and Crimson Desert.

Samsung Display notes that the high-end gaming display market is currently undergoing a rapid transition from LCD technology to OLED and QD-OLED technologies. The company will continue to work on developing new technologies for the gaming and premium display segments in the future.
