Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max Phones Launched with Up to 9,000mAh Battery, Dolby Vision Supported Display: Check Price
Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max under its Turbo series in China. These phones come with large batteries, high-performance chipsets, and flagship-level features, further strengthening Redmi’s position in the mid-premium segment. The Redmi Turbo 5 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display, while the Max model boasts a larger 6.83-inch display. The vanilla model is powered by the Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor and a 7,560mAh battery, while the Max model gets a more powerful Dimensity 9500 chipset and a 9,000mAh battery. Both phones come with 100W fast charging, Android 16-based HyperOS 3, and flagship-grade dust and water resistance.
In terms of pricing and availability, the Redmi Turbo 5 is launched in China starting at 1,999 yuan (approximately ₹26,400), while the Turbo 5 Max starts at 2,499 yuan (approximately ₹33,000). Both smartphones are currently available for sale in China. The different variants of the Turbo 5 are priced from 1,999 yuan to 2,599 yuan (approximately ₹34,350), while the top variant of the Turbo 5 Max reaches up to 3,099 yuan (approximately ₹41,000).
In terms of design, both phones feature a metal frame and a glass back panel. The company claims that the new weight balance scheme and narrow bezel design improve the in-hand feel. The Redmi Turbo 5 is available in Shadow Black, Light Sea Green, and Auspicious Cloud White color options. Both phones have received IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, meaning they are considered quite robust in terms of dust and water resistance.
In terms of display, the Redmi Turbo 5 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display, while the Turbo 5 Max boasts a larger 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED panel. Both displays support a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, high-frequency PWM dimming, and a peak brightness of up to 3500 nits. The company also claims the use of M10 luminescent material and Eye Protection features.
For performance, the Redmi Turbo 5 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra (4nm) processor, while the Turbo 5 Max gets the more powerful Dimensity 9500 (3nm) chipset. Both phones come with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Xiaomi has included a flagship-grade 3D ice-sealed cooling system and a new Rampage Engine, which claims to better manage CPU, GPU, and memory performance.
Regarding the camera setup, both smartphones feature a 50MP OIS-supported primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera, supporting 4K 60fps video recording. A 20MP selfie camera is present on the front. The Turbo 5 Max features an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, while the Turbo 5 has an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.
The battery is a major highlight of this launch. The Redmi Turbo 5 comes with a 7,560mAh battery, while the Turbo 5 Max gets an even larger 9,000mAh battery. Both phones support 100W fast charging, and the Turbo 5 also features 27W reverse charging. The company claims that these phones are capable of providing long battery life even with heavy usage.
In terms of software, both smartphones run on Xiaomi HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. Connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an infrared sensor, and multi-band GPS support.
